Mission Statement:
The Veteran Resource Center (VRC) will enhance veterans’ abilities to support and care for themselves and their families by providing a welcoming and safe environment; provide assistance obtaining benefits, services and resources to meet their needs; and support their reintegration into the community.
Vision:
To provide a space where Veterans and their families can get information and assistance on Veteran programs, resources, and benefits by working in cooperation with Maine’s Veteran agencies, non-profits, and Veteran Service Organizations here in Maine.
Who We Are
The Mid-Coast Veteran’s Council (MCVC) is a non-profit organization whose objective is to work in cooperation with all Veterans’ organizations and agencies to better the lives of our Veterans and their families within our community.
Who We Help
Whether you are a Veteran, Active Duty, National Guard, or Reservists, our goal is to facilitate a connection with local, state and national programs that can provide them with any assistance needed.
Veterans Resource Center
The VRC provides office space to meet with our affiliate agencies such as the Retired Activities Officer, Martin’s Point, the Vet Center, Veteran Benefits Administration, and tele-health to any VA facility using the VA Atlas system. The VRC has a conference room where Veterans’ Groups can hold meetings, and a lounge for Veteran use while they wait for services. We also have medical equipment, crutches, electric scooters, etc. available for use. Volunteer staff open the VRC Monday-Friday 9am-4pm. Come in or call us at 207-406-4103.
Our History
Due to the closure of the Brunswick Naval Air Station, the Mid-Coast no longer had many of the Veteran/Retiree services that come with an active military installation. Thanks to Priority Real Estate Group’s donation of the space at Brunswick Landing, this need blossomed into the Mid-Coast Veteran’s Council. The MCVC was established on March 17, 2012, and incorporated as a Domestic Nonprofit Organization in the state of Maine on April 25, 2012. Since our inception we have served over 1,600 unique Veterans-many multiple times.
